The Indo-Canadian Community Centre would once again like to congratulate and thank all those who have generously:
Donated over $62,000 to date for its “ICCC COVID-19 RELIEF FUND” for the four charities namely:
- The Ottawa Hospital,
- Shepherds of Good Hope,
- Ottawa Food Bank and
- The Ottawa Mission, and
Provided several “in-kind” contributions, which include:
* Stitching of over 1500 face masks and gowns for front line workers and ICCC Seniors
*Over 350 meals (lunches or dinner – Indian cuisine) for front line medical staff of the 5 hospitals in Ottawa (Civics, General Riverside, Montfort and Queensway –Carleton Hospitals) during the past 4 weeks.
* Aid and support to Indian students in dire need
* Yoga and Pranayama classes to protect from COVID-19 virus,
* Volunteer services for various Hospitals and COVID-19 Assessment Centres
*ICCC Seniors Virtual Zoom meetings, in a very social and informative setting, are now attended by more than 80 seniors every Thursday (2:00-3:30 p.m.) and Friday (10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon). There is a yoga session, talks by invited guests and socializing by seniors by way of singing songs and bhajans, jokes and anecdotes.
ICCC Seniors Brain Health program meetings are held every Monday (10 a.m.-12 noon). Activities include: Light exercises, brain games, art and cultural programs, etc. to keep seniors and their brains active.
ICCC encourages other seniors to join in to relieve from isolation, boredom and loneliness.
EKAL Vidyalaya: ICCC has also donated $25,500 to EKAL Vidyalaya to fund 4 life time schools for children, as well as for anemia treatment for 400 women under “Arogya Program” in Kerala.

The community has shown that we can all be of great support to one another during these challenging times.

Therefore, as always, ICCC would gladly work in cooperation and collaboration with Indo-Canadian organizations, individuals and others in the community for Fund-raising and COVID-19 pandemic support initiatives.
At ICCC, we are very much aware that “Giving Back to the Community” is a cherished value of our rich Indian heritage. We are thankful to all and look forward to continuing an ongoing fund-raising effort to support various causes.
